Academics for Companies (AFC) is a student organization with the mission to bridge the gap between the academic and business world. AFC facilitates this transition through a variety of activities centered on three key pillars: "Explore, Learn, Apply." These pillars are represented by three major activity categories: Events, Workshops, and Projects. AFC Events are themed and feature several (expert) speakers who share their insights and knowledge. Attending students get the opportunity to both listen to and meet representatives form different companies and sectors in order to envision their future careers. This is the perfect opportunity for students to broaden their interests and explore new, interesting topics. AFC Workshops are organized around a certain theme and are usually bundled in a ‘workshop track’, consisting of three workshops evolving around a specific topic. The workshops are free and organized in small groups of 25 motivated students to maximize professional and personal development. AFC Projects give students the opportunity to get a taste of how it is like working in a consultancy environment by tackling a firm’s current issue within a specific topic. For ten weeks, a multidisciplinary team of selected students will work on a real-world consulting case. To ensure that the chosen team is able to complete the project successfully, they will attend various workshops and coaching sessions, led by certain high-quality companies and expert coaches.
